Eric C. Hern recently received the Society of Human Resources Management’s Senior Certified Professional designation after successfully passing a nationwide examination.
“The SHRM-SCP exam is a challenging certification, as worldwide candidate’s first time pass rate is only about 50% (which includes those who utilized exam preparation courses and/or the use of study guides),” said Dr. Denise Bean. executive director of The Guidance Center. “Eric took the certification exam without utilizing any of those supports. His business experience, initiative and confidence serves us well here at The Guidance Center and is a testament to his significant understanding and background in finance, human resources, and other senior management areas of responsibility.”
Hern has been with The Guidance Center since January 2021 in his role as senior director of operations and chief financial officer. He brought more than 30 years of senior management experience in both the private and public sectors, including most recently as director of finance and administration for Warren County, Pa., where he made improvements to various areas including insurance, human resources, and financial systems. Hern oversees the human resources, finance and information technology groups at The Guidance Center, as well as oversees other functional areas including investments, insurance, legal and risk management.
